Paris

The Eiffel Tower. Notre Dame. Versailles. The Louvre. No city is quite as endowed with so many world-class sites as the one we've been calling home for the past week.... Paris.

From the moment our guests arrived last Saturday in the City of Lights, their senses have been on overload. Paris' art, architecture, culture, nightlife, cuisine, history and joie de vivre all combine into an unforgettable experience.

To offer a taste of what lay in store for them, we introduced the group to each other on an evening cruise down the Seine on the Bateaux-Mouches. A sail down the Seine after dark shows to perfection many of Paris' most beautiful buildings, magnificently illuminated.

We've spent the better part of the week exploring the old streets of the Latin Quarter; strolling the wide Avenue des Champs-Elysees; and promenading through the gorgeous parks, palaces, squares and museums for which Paris is famed.

A direct benefit of this particular Douglas Easton Travel tour is the copious amount of food one can eat without gaining weight! Because we spend so much of our mornings and early afternoons walking the city's fabulous streets, one is free to indulge in a myriad of beautiful creations at each meal. We take particular pleasure in the expressions on our guests' faces as they taste each extraordinary dish. (A common comment is, "I didn't know food could taste this good!") And as always, Doug makes sure that everyone over-indulges by tasting every imaginable dessert and pastry!

With great regret, we'll bid everyone au revoir tomorrow and head south to the Cote d'Azur.
