Buenos Aires, Argentina

We're mid-way through our Buenos Aires Walking Tour, and already half our group has made inquiries about buying property here!  Few cities in the western hemisphere can lay claim to architectural beauty on a par with BA.  Throw in fantastic meals, reasonable prices (even using US dollars), intriguing culture and friendly, attractive locals, and it becomes irresistible.

This morning we thoroughly enjoyed our private tango lesson with Claudio, who deserves a Silver Star for patience and a Purple Heart for having his toes stepped on so much!  All the dancing helped work up an appetite, and we appeased our hunger with a fantastic lunch at Mirasol, a carnivores dream.  Argentina consumes more meat per capita than any other country, and Marisol is where the natives go for a red meat fix.  Our lunch was short on talking and long on groans!  We tasted two superb Malbecs, a full-bodied Argentine red grape that is perfectly suited to the flavorful roasted and grilled beef.

This evening, we're off to Bar Sur to see an authentic tango performance, which hopefully will inspire the more ardent members of our grouop to take tango lessons after returning to the U.S.
