Los Angeles



It's a bird! It's a plane! No! It's ...... Doug! And a year older, too! He's spreading his wings at the landmark Theme Building at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), home to a surprisingly good restaurant, Encounters. Built in 1961 (yes, outdating Mr. Easton!) this masterpiece of design and function offers stunning views of LAX, the Hollywood sign, downtown Los Angeles and beyond.

John treated Doug to a fabulous lunch while watching the parade of planes. (A glass of wine also contributed to Doug's efforts at miming an Airbus.) It was a welcome respite from a frenetic week of answering inquiries from prospective travelers receiving our latest mailer.

Only three more days and we'll be on the road again... tune in soon to find out where!
