Our travels have taken us north to San Francisco for the International Gay & Lesbian World Travel Conference and Expo. Though the weather has been perfect, we haven't minded staying indoors... it's been great meeting with our colleagues. It's fantastic to see the progress that's been made toward guaranteeing gay travelers access to the same services long enjoyed by straight travelers. Mainstream hotel chains, airlines, convention bureaus and tour operators are actively promoting safe, exciting and memorable travel as never before. Be sure to check out http://www.tagapproved.com/ for a growing list of accommodations that both support both the gay community and equality in the workplace. The expo on October 22 was a blast... it afforded us the opportunity to meet many Bay Area travelers. At least a dozen attendees commented that we had the best chocolates at the expo! We're quite proud of ourselves for having limited our own consumption to a handful (okay, a handful each... but still not too bad for two certified chocoholics). Tomorrow we fly to Paris to stay with Doug's parents for a few days.
