Traveler Testimonials |
Fun, relaxation, adventure and a dose of history are all parts of the experience of traveling with Douglas Easton Travel. Doug is one of the best travel guides anywhere: knowledgeable, proficient, and thoughtful… and his awesome tours are all about beginning new friendships, experiencing the finest dining, and learning a lot about the local culture of each destination. I can’t imagine traveling with anyone else. Every year my partner and I look forward to our annual adventure with Douglas Easton Travel and friends.

Douglas Easton Travel changed my whole attitude toward travel. Prior to joining their Ultimate Paris Walking Tour, I was apprehensive about visiting countries where I don’t speak the language. (I studied French for two years in high school and it was a miserable experience.) DET showed me what an amazing and liberating adventure travel can be. I was so blown away by every aspect of the trip that, upon returning home, I immediately sent in my deposit for their Argentina & Brazil tours!!

I wanted to let you know how thoroughly I enjoyed the trip to South America. The organization and scheduling of excursions was flawless. I was really surprised that we got through the entire trip without the slightest hint of a problem with any of the arrangements: considering that we were visiting three different South American countries, that's saying a great deal. Everything went like perfectly oiled clockwork.
As for your selection of hotels, they were all first class. And your judgment vis a vis restaurants and sightseeing was simply inspired.
I want you to know that I enjoyed the trip so much that I'm enclosing my deposit check for your safari in South Africa next March. It's wonderful to be able to completely rely on you to create the perfect vacation.

This is a note to thank you for one of the most wonderfully memorable trips I have had the fortune to take with you. Everything was perfectly organized, from the flight to Buenos Aires, to the pre-arranged transport to the superb hotel there. Each hotel was an example of the best available in each local. The travel aside, I cannot say that I have ever been exposed to so many fine, unusual restaurant experiences at one time. Each location you had already set up was more wonderful than the previous. This includes Marius Crustaceo in Copacabana, with the largest array of seafood I have ever seen, to the Four Seasons "buffet" in Buenos Aires, with more varieties of Sunday Brunch edibles than I knew existed.
Also, the evenings' entertainments, from the evening of tango to shopping, was unforgettable, especially in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. I treasure my Capoeira soapstone sculpture from the street market in Sao Paulo, and the leather jacket from Argentina. I cannot think of anything that was lacking or done "half-way". This includes the terrific side trip to Colonia, Uruguay, the adventure to the top of Sugar Loaf, and the remarkable cemetery and Evita's Tomb in Buenos Aires.
I cannot thank you enough for organizing such a completely glitch-free trip, and for the thoroughly endearing group of fellow travelers. I truly look forward to our next "adventure" together.

I would be delighted to have you show this letter to anyone who is considering traveling with Douglas Easton Travel, because I want them to know that I have now traveled with you on five different tours: the Ultimate Paris WalkingTour; Buenos Aires, Rio and Sao Paulo; Peru; the Amazon; and the South Africa Luxury safari, and each trip was amazingly well-organized and took into account each participant's wants and needs (and that sort of attention to detail is exceptional nowadays).
Furthermore, it was obvious that you were quite familiar with each location we visited. You also seem to have a unique knack of attracting the most interesting people to travel with you, and that makes it extremely enjoyable from a social point of view.
My last comment: this is the first time that I've traveled more than twice (let alone five times) with the same company, so you must be doing something right! Thanks for everything, and keep up the great work!

With over 50 countries visited now under my belt, I can say that the highlight of my travels has been with the Douglas Easton Travel. I find their itineraries to be extraordinarily unique, providing me with some of my greatest travel adventures, such as the Arctic dog sledding in Svalbard, gorilla trekking in Rwanda, watching the Wildebeests migrate through crocodile infested waters in Kenya and sailing across the Masai Mara desert in a hot air balloon.
In addition to their incredible and exciting adventures, they have also provided attention to every detail and excellent customer service throughout the trips I’ve taken with them. And equally important, they have enriched our group with a great sense of humor and leadership that kept the atmosphere lively and entertaining. I’m sure I’ll be taking another trip of theirs in the near future.

We are seasoned world travelers who've been everywhere over the past 33 years including many trips "for men" with Hanns Ebensten & RSVP. We have recently taken our first trip with Douglas Easton Travel and it was perfect in every way...we were planning our next trip with them even before the tour was over!
Ray & Frank (New York City, NY)

Both my partner and I have traveled with Douglas Easton Travel last year to Egypt and the Sinai peninsula. We had literally an experience of a lifetime that we are still reliving as we think back on the time we spent there. Doug and John certainly know how to conduct the best tours for our community. We were well taken care of and felt as though we had know them for years; the care and level to detail was exceptional and the thoroughness and professionalism of all who we met was of the highest.
We travel frequently and have traveled in the past with some the best in the industry....but by far they are the best not only in the LGBT community but in the whole travel industry. We have met the most fantastic people who share the love of adventure and travel as we do and have become great friends. Do it!

I have traveled on two separate occasions over the last two years with Douglas Easton Travel. Both trips (South Africa Safari and Egypt) were absolutely incredible. My expectations were far exceeded by the level of quality and professionalism received. Everything from the transfers, accommodations, meals, and sightseeing were well planned and thought out.
I am a well-seasoned traveler that usually likes to do my own thing and find my own way, however, Douglas Easton Travel has made a believer out of me that guided trips can be much more fun! Both trips had a great mix of people that I truly think will be the start of new friendships with not only fellow travelers, but also the tour guides and staff.
Thanks Doug and John for making my travels so memorable. I look forward to many more great trips and memories in the future!

As a world traveler, I have dealt with many agencies: NO MORE! Having taken two trips with Douglas Easton Travel, there is simply no other way to go. They are outstanding and their total expertise is superb.
You enjoy; they work. They are, quite frankly, THE best!
Jim (Dallas, TX)

One of the best things we'd loved is that Doug and John consistently secure accommodations that are extremely nice and give an intimate feeling for the country in which you're traveling.
Traveling with Doug and John is like being with old friends who are fun and very knowledgeable. Although they are always well prepared, they're also very flexible. We always look forward to viewing their new itineraries and dreaming of being a part of every trip.
